Among the Exotics introduced with The Witch Queen, players have been particularly happy about the new SMG, Osteo Striga. This weapon can be obtained after completing the campaign, and it shoots homing projectiles that inflict a poison debuff on the enemies hit, which works particularly well with the Warlocks’ Necrotic Grip gloves. Even on the other classes, Destiny 2’s Osteo Striga is now one of the best Exotic primaries in the game, especially with its catalyst.

A Reddit user by the name of mrstarpixel shared a post on the platform thanking Bungie for the introduction of Osteo Striga, and not only for its add-clearing capabilities. In fact, the player is legally blind, and as a result, they count on a weapon with both infinite ammo and homing projectiles to improve their experience playing Destiny 2. In a game like Destiny 2, where aiming at a target is part of the flow, being legally blind can take a toll on the enjoyment.

Thus, having a gun that is forgiving to players if they are not exactly aiming it at the enemies can make a substantial difference. The stickiness of the projectiles shot by Destiny 2’s Osteo Striga also seems to be scaling with the gun’s range stat, with a range of 100 being the best for this specific purpose. On top of that, Osteo Striga is a viable Exotic for boss DPS because of its base damage combined with the poison damage over time, bringing an extra layer of fun to the endgame.

Recently, a differently-abled Destiny 2 team completed the Vow of the Disciple Raid thanks to visual cues and a custom-made, 3D-printed controller for one of the players. This further shows that even though some accessibility options may still be lacking from the game, even the hardest activities in the game can be completed by anyone with the proper means. As such, Osteo Striga is already making a difference for other players with disabilities, and future releases might just add more items like it into the mix.

Destiny 2 is now available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
