In anticipation of Lego Dimensions upcoming release, Lego is taking the opportunity to remind Lego fans both young and old just what can be expected from the game. The final release trailer highlights the motely crew that will inhabit Lego Dimensions world, featuring everyone from the Ghostbusters to Doctor Who, and shows gamers just how Lego Dimensions will be shaped by player’s imaginations.
The trailer also shows off the game’s vehicle mechanic, allowing players to build iconic vehicles such as the DeLorean from Back to the Future or the Mystery Mobile from Scooby-Doo. While these vehicles can be utilized to solve puzzles and as a means of transportation, Lego Dimensions allows players to rebuild vehicles into brand new configurations, which can then be imported into the game. Turn the Batmobile into a tank, turn the Ecto-1 into a mech; the only limit is the players imagination.

On top of the wide selection of vehicles, Lego Dimensions is packed to the brim with beloved characters from across pop culture. Developer Traveller’s Tales has gone above and beyond to ensure that each character looks and sounds like they should. Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd return to voice their respective Back to the Future counterparts, and Chris Pratt pulls double duty as both Emmett from The Lego Movie and Owen Grady from Jurassic World.
The trailer also offers a glimpse of main villain Lord Vortech, who will be voiced by veteran character actor Gary Oldman. Joining the insidious Vortech will be X-PO, a helper robot voiced by Community alum Joel McHale. The various characters inhabiting Lego Dimensions will need to come together to defeat Vortech and his forces, lest the Lego world be torn asunder.
Traveller’s Tales has shown they have a knack for pumping out fun-for-all-ages Lego titles, and Lego Dimensions seems to be the culmination of all their hard work. Devoted Lego fans will find plenty to build (and destroy) in Lego Dimensions vast world, while casual fans will get a blast out of teaming up Krusty the Clown with Chell from Portal. Packed to the brim with content, Lego Dimensions promises to be an interesting game when it hits shelves on September 27th.
Lego Dimensions releases for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Wii U, Xbox 360, and Xbox One on September 27th.
